No. PlanetBids supports, not replaces, the statutory sealed-bid procedure, providing a documented, time-stamped record of posting, addenda release and acknowledgement, and bid receipt. The bid is opened within the system for digital evaluation, creating a transparent record of scoring and decision making.
What's our dollar threshold for public bidding, and can PlanetBids manage this?
The dollar threshold depends on your entity tupe and purchase category and should be confirmed against current statute and your agency's policy. PlanetBids configures your posting and documentation workflow to the threshold and process that applies, rather than determining it for you.
Can our rural water or fire district use PlanetBids even if we're not a city or county?
Absolutely. Special districts formed under 82 O.S. § 1324.1 et seq. or 19 O.S. § 901.1 et seq. can use PlanetBids just the same as any local municipality.
