Is my data protected in case of a disaster occurring at a data center?
Yes. PlanetBids maintains its data in Amazon Web Services' geographically-dispersed data centers with disaster recovery systems in place to guarantee both data integrity and data availability in the event of any data center outage. Should such an event occur, failover to data recovery systems will happen to minimize service interruptions.
Where does PlanetBids store and process customer data?
PlanetBids production network and system components are managed in AWS data centers designed to anticipate and tolerate failure while maintaining service levels.
How does PlanetBids protect my data?
PlanetBids has implemented an organization-wide governance, risk, and compliance program that identifies, assesses, mitigates, and monitors risks to customer data and our service infrastructure. This includes:
- Security patching programs
- Annual third-party penetration tests
- Static code analysis scans
- Data transmitted from client to server using TLS 1.2/1.3, with publicly available services terminating with FIPS 140-2 cryptographic-compliant certificates.

PlanetBids is currently and continuously pursuing SOC 2 compliance.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. In case of failure, automated processes move traffic away from the affected area. In the event of a data center failure, there is sufficient capacity to enable traffic to be load-balanced to remaining sites.
Is my data securely encrypted?
Data is transmitted from client to server using TLS 1.2/1.3, with publicly available services terminating with FIPS 140-2 cryptographic-compliant certificates. All data is encrypted at rest with AES 256 encryption.
How does PlanetBids keep up with the latest security threats?
PlanetBids deploys industry-standard technology including Log Monitoring and WAF. In addition, we monitor and apply necessary patches and updates to ensure security from exploits or attacks, and perform regular third-party audits and tests at all layers of our application.
Does the PB System™ support Single Sign-on (SSO)?
PlanetBids now supports Single Sign-ON (SSO) via SAML.
Is any additional software required to use the PB System™?
Only a modern web browser (e.g. Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Firefox) is required to use PlanetBids services.
Does PlanetBids provide an open API to allow for custom user account management?
Not at this time. However, PlanetBids is constantly working to provide new user features.
Does PlanetBids integrate with other business software systems?
PlanetBids allows you to export your data directly from the PB System™ to be imported into any ERP or accounting software system.
What physical security controls does PlanetBids maintain?
Production systems for PlanetBids are housed in AWS data centers, which are monitored 24/7 by security personnel and include a full suite of physical and environmental controls.
