CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT

HOW JEFFERSON COUNTY TRANSFORMED

  • Eliminated stacks of paper and manual spreadsheet tracking – replaced with a centralized digital system that gives staff real-time visibility into every bid and contract in the pipeline

  • Completed the County's first fully paperless procurement project in December 2025, just months after go-live – including electronic bid submission, scoring, and award

  • Vendors now self-register and receive automatic notifications for new opportunities, eliminating missed outreach from manual email lists and spreadsheets

  • Solicitation templates cut time from request to release  no more switching between programs or rebuilding documents from scratch for each purchase

  • 18 months in, there is full team buy-in, including a 26-year veteran who now "loves working with PlanetBids"

"I tell my team all the time that when they go home, they shouldn't be taking all the stress of work with them. You shouldn't have to be overwhelmed Monday through Friday with how much work you have and then go home and be stressed because all you see in your mind are all these stacks of paper."

BUILT FOR HOW NEW HAMPSHIRE AGENCIES ARE REQUIRED TO BUY

New Hampshire has no single statewide competitive bidding statute. Towns and cities operate under authority granted by the General Court (RSA Title III). PlanetBids is engineered to fit into whatever purchasing policy your agency has adopted, simplifying processes and automating workflows to reduce administrative load on your small or multitasking purchasing team.

WHAT AGENCIES AND VENDORS SAY ABOUT PLANETBIDS

The best proof that a platform works isn't what it claims. It's what the people on both sides of the bid say about it.

"Having PlanetBids manage the process, document each step with time and date validation, and efficiently communicate with all interested parties at once makes our procurement projects a huge success."

Jennifer Dyment

Assistant Executive Director, Bay Area Clean Water Agencies

"From initial planning and design to system configuration, testing, and launch — it really is one of the fastest and easiest IT transitions that can take place for a large government organization."

Mina Hernandez

Executive Director of General Services, West Valley-Mission College District

"We find their cloud-based software user-friendly for both our vendors and our own staff. The ability to customize our portal and the online security processes utilized by PlanetBids satisfied our requirements to comply with federal, state, and local regulations."

Muhammad Abdullah

Senior Director & Chief Contracting Officer, Capital Metro – Austin, TX

WHO WE ARE

Built by procurement professionals, for procurement professionals

PlanetBids was founded specifically for the public procurement industry, and we understand the needs of procurement professionals. That origin matters, as every feature, every workflow, and every support interaction are designed to reflect how actual purchasing teams manage work under budget pressure, public scrutiny, and legal compliance requirements.

Designed for public procurement since 2000

We're not an ERP company that added a procurement module. We're not a startup that pivoted into GovTech. We're not a big conglomerate chasing a new market. We are a 25-year-old company whose entire business is built around making procurement professionals more effective.

100% US-based support staff with procurement backgrounds

Our in-house support team includes people with real public procurement backgrounds. When you call with a question about sealed bid procedures or vendor protest prevention, you're talking to someone who has managed that process themselves and understands your issues.

A solid foundation of PlanetBids agencies

550+ agencies. 1,000+ users. 99% retention. Zero valid bid protests across $50B+ in contracts processed. Our company has stayed focused on one thing for 25 years, and we have the track record to prove it.

How does PlanetBids handle the various New Hampshire requirements for competitive bidding?

While no single statewide statute mandates competitive bidding for all New Hampshire towns and cities, PlanetBids isn't designed as a one-size-fits-all fix. The system configures to whatever thresholds, processes, and requirements your agency and governing board has adopted, so you're not rebuilding your procurement operations or constantly designing workarounds.

Can our New Hampshire agency purchase PlanetBids without going through a new bid process?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

Potentially yes, depending on your agency type and purchasing thresholds, cooperative purchasing options may be available that allow New Hampshire agencies to execute a contract without issuing a new competitive solicitation. Contact our team to discuss the procurement paths available for your specific agency.

If a direct procurement path is preferred, our team can provide pre-approved legal resolution language addressing common counsel concerns including General Municipal Law 103 authorization and cooperative purchasing authority.

How does PlanetBids interact with our Town Meeting budget process under RSA 32?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

PlanetBids doesn't deal with appropriation authority. PlanetBids manages the solicitation creation and release, the bidding process, and the award workflow once funds are authorized, and it keeps that record clean and centralized so it's easy to access ahead of town meetings.

Can our village district or precinct use PlanetBids separately from the town?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

Yes, under RSA 52, village districts and precincts are independent governmental units and can run their own PlanetBids account, sized to their own solicitation volume, rather than shared with the town's system. Alternatively, towns and counties can configure and manage an overarching PlanetBids procurement system for all relevant districts and precincts.

Can we use PlanetBids alongside Tyler Munis or Edmunds GovTech?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

Yes, PlanetBids provides API integration with most commonly used ERPs and financial software, including Tyler Technologies and Edmunds. The integration passes awarded contract data, vendor information, and purchase requisitions between systems, eliminating duplicate entry while maintaining your ERP as the financial system of record.

PlanetBids handles the vendor-facing competitive bidding process, vendor management, bid solicitation, and award, then pushes clean contract and vendor data into your ERP for encumbrance and payment processing. Most clients keep their ERP for accounting while using PlanetBids for the public procurement workflow.

How does PlanetBids help with NHDES or NHDOT Ten Year Plan-funded project documentation?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

PlanetBids centralizes the procurement records that grantors and auditors request for DWSRF, CWSRF, and NHDOT projects, including solicitation posting, communication, addenda acknowledgement, and bid submission. All records are timestamped and easily accessible for records request so the agency doesn't have to rebuilt the file.

How quickly can we go live, and what does implementation cost?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

Most towns and citiesareup and running within a few weeks, including implementation, training, integration with your ERP, and vendor imports. No new staff is needed to manage the transition. In special cases, agencies with tight timelines for specific solicitation posting can be live in as little as a few days.

PlanetBids does charge a one-time setup fee that covers all implementation, training, and customization.

How much does PlanetBids cost?

small blue chevron arrow down icon

PlanetBids is a SaaS subscription-based platform, with no per-bid, vendor, or transaction fees. Pricing is tiered based on agency requirements for features and functionality, as well as number of full users and number of solicitations per year. Because pricing is tailored to your specific agency needs, we recommend reaching out to your regional sales manager for a better idea of pricing.
