Alpine Meadows, Calif. – Alpine Springs County Water District has selected PlanetBids to handle solicitation posting and bid acceptance for all procurement processes.
The District, which does a small number of procurements each year, will remove manual processes that use up valuable time and employee resources, instead moving to a digital platform that will speed up processes and expand vendor reach for better competition.
The first project to run through the new system is expected to be released this fall.
Previously, Alpine Springs County Water District, which serves the North Lake Tahoe area and provides water service to the Alpine Meadows community. handled solicitations entirely manually, with no vendor portal, no electronic submission process, and no centralized system for managing Q&A, addenda, or bid documentation.
For a small water district managing capital and operational projects in a specialized geographic market, reaching qualified contractors and engineering firms efficiently and maintaining a clean, auditable solicitation record matters as much as it does for any large agency.
The District will now manage solicitations through a single platform with electronic submission, enforced document requirements, addendum acknowledgment tracking, and a complete audit trail. All solicitation activity, from the first posting through award, carries a permanent, searchable record the District owns.
The District's new vendor portal will give contractors and service providers a direct path to register, select relevant categories, and receive automatic notifications when solicitations post. PlanetBids' California vendor network gives the District access to qualified firms already working with water agencies across the region, expanding competition well beyond what a manual outreach process can generate.
"Alpine Springs County Water District is a great example of how PlanetBids scales to fit any agency, regardless of size or solicitation volume," said David DiGiacomo, CEO of PlanetBids. "Whether an agency puts out two projects a year or 200, they deserve a professional procurement platform that works for them."
Vendors interested in working with Alpine Springs County Water District can register, view open opportunities, and sign up for notifications at the District's PlanetBids vendor portal.
