Bidding on contracts for work at MiraCosta College—including work associated with the $455 million, Proposition MM bond measure—just got a lot easier.
In the spirit of conducting remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, MiraCosta College has signed up with PlanetBids, a web-based bid and vendor management software serving hundreds of California public agencies. PlanetBids provides MiraCosta College and its bond management team the opportunity to engage with a broader pool of vendors and contractors that have registered with the service for electronic bid submissions, which is key during COVID-19 to minimize in-person interactions.
“It will provide the District better outreach and transparency to local and small businesses and our community, resulting in increased engagement and competitive pricing on bids,” said Mina Hernandez, MiraCosta College’s Director of Purchasing & Material Management.
